2022: a focus on Black Health and Wellness
black History is integral to the fabric of america's history
Black History Month 2022 Theme: Health and Wellness
The theme for 2022 focuses on the importance of Black Health and Wellness. This theme acknowledges the legacy of not only Black scholars and medical practitioners in Western medicine, but also other ways of knowing (e.g., birthworkers, doulas, midwives, naturopaths, herbalists, etc.) throughout the African Diaspora. The 2022 theme considers activities, rituals and initiatives that Black communities have done to be well.
28 Ways to Celebrate Black History This Month
Since the 1970s, the month of February has been an exceptional period for the Black community as we devote 28 days – 29 if we’re lucky – to commemorate all things Black. Here at the West Metro Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People we are challenging all of our supporters to celebrate Black history a different way each day.View 28 Ways!
